Secretary’s Report – Ken

The November board meeting minutes were approved as is.

Treasurer’s Report – John D.

Our balance is $58,379. This includes most of Christmas tree expenses and the revenue from November. The treasurer’s report was approved as is.

Team Reports

Tree Team

There are still 93 trees left after tonight. The problem seems to be lack of customers, not the prices of the trees. Ken will add extra shifts to the schedule this weekend. Kent will send out the plea for help.

We have had some complaints of needles falling off the balsams, and we have had two trees returned for split trunks. We should be inspecting the trees while they are on the sawhorses. The wrestlers helped out last weekend and some were ambitious and some not. We’ve had several people asking about the bake sale (St. Paul Blackhawks Soccer) and the chocolate sale (RAHS Robotics).

Program Team

JohnD will reserve a room for the Friday night hospitality room. Joe will buy shrimp, cheese, and beer. Kris will supply crackers and paper products. She will also do some decorating. The theme is “Back to the Future.”

Membership Team

Joe will bring an application form to Matt Smith, who attended our last social meeting.

New Business

Rosetown Playhouse

Ken received a request from Margot Olsen from Rosetown Playhouse for help buying replacement microphones for their plays. Two microphone packs and two lapel mics would cost $580.

Motion by Sue, 2nd by JohnD, to contribute $580 to Rosetown Playhouse for replacement microphones. All approved.

Honor Flight MN

We were all impressed by Jerry Kiser’s presentation on Honor Flight of Minnesota at our last social meeting. JonA suggested we pay for two veterans to take an honor flight to Washington, DC at a cost of $500 each. The next flight is scheduled for April.

Motion by JonA, 2nd by Karin, to contribute $1000 to Honor Flight of Minnesota for two veterans to fly to Washington, DC. All approved.
